The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has partnered with the CAREC Institute, the Asian Development Bank and others to organize the Eighth CAREC Think Tank Development Forum, themed “The Climate Challenge: Thinking Beyond Borders for Collective Action”. This two-day event takes place in Almaty, Kazakhstan and has gathered over 120 participants from regional think tanks, CAREC member countries, academic institutions, development partners, and media to collaboratively address the pressing climate challenges facing our region.

The Eurasian Development Bank together with the CAREC Institute, the Asia Development Bank and other partners are pleased to announce the 8th CAREC Think Tank Development Forum (CTTDF), set to take place at the Ritz-Carlton in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from August 27-28, 2024. This year’s forum, themed “The Climate Challenge: Thinking Beyond Borders for Collective Action,” will bring together policymakers, experts, and leaders from across Asia to advance regional cooperation on climate action.

EDB’s Conrad Albrecht, Managing Director of Directorate of Sustainability, took part at CAREC Senior Officials’ Meeting and Development Partners Session on May 30–31 2024. The meeting was organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which is leading CAREC Secretariat and organizes institutional events, such as ministerial conferences, senior officials' meetings, and sector and sector coordinating committees' meetings as well as liaising with partner governments and institutions.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will be holding its Annual Meeting on the 27th and 28th of June 2024 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The event’s program will include the annual meeting of the EDB Council as well as a discussion platform for representatives of multilateral development banks, international organisations, governments, businesses, research institutions and academia.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the EDB Management Board, Mr Alikhan Smailov will be charing the opening plenary session, which will focus on interactions between multilateral development banks as a key factor for the Central Asian countries to achieve their sustainable development goals.
The forum will bring together MDBs, governments and businesses to discuss the joint implementation of major infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity between the region’s countries, promoting the efficient and balanced use of water and energy, addressing food security issues in Central Asia, and navigating the challenges related to fostering digital technology and innovation for Eurasia.
