News — The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) participated in the side event titled “Regional Partnerships in Support of the SDGs: the Case of the EAEU and Other Initiatives in Eurasia” at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) under the auspices of the UN ECOSOC. This hybrid event, held in New York (USA), focused on the regional dimension of the SDGs and the impact of integration processes on the progress in achieving the SDGs by countries that are members of regional groupings.

On 15 July 2024, the Sustainability Committee of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) held its first meeting in 2024 and the third since its establishment. The Committee delved into the practical measures the Bank will undertake to strengthen its position as a leading financial institution for sustainable development in Eurasia.

On 28 June 2024, during the Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, a memorandum was signed to support the investment programme of the Servolux Group of Companies. The document was signed by Iaroslav Mandron, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Alisher Adylov, Director General of Servolux.

A Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of Islamic Finance in Central Asia was signed between the EDB and the Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI) on June 27, 2024, in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the Eurasian Development Bank's Annual Meeting and Business Forum. The document was signed by Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, Acting Director General of the Islamic Development Bank Institute.

The ceremony of signing a Cooperation Agreement on Islamic Finance between the EDB and Dar Al Sharia was held on June 27, 2024, in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the Eurasian Development Bank's Annual Meeting and Business Forum. The event was attended by Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Ammar Ahmed, CEO of Dar Al Sharia.

The Eurasian Development Bank and Istcomtrans LLP signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the MURABAHA Project Implementation; the ceremony was held on June 27, 2024, in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the EDB's Annual Meeting and Business Forum. The document was signed by Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board and Marat Sarsenov, Chairman of the Istcomtrans LLP Supervisory Board.

The Eurasian Development Bank and Qarmet Joint Stock Company signed a Partnership Agreement on June 27, 2024, in Almaty, as part of the EDB's Annual Meeting and Business Forum.

The Eurasian Development Bank won the Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards 2024 in the ESG Research of the Year: Asia category. The award recognizes and celebrates the EDB's high standards in the field of sustainable finance, as well as the Bank's best practices in conducting applied analytical research that has significant impact on the region.

The National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NAI), Vasta Discovery LLC and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) have signed a trilateral Memorandum of Cooperation on the creation of Baytik Mountain Resort in the Kyrgyz Republic.
