A survey of the preferences of different income groups in the EAEU countries suggests that higher-income citizens are more positive towards the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) than economically weaker groups. A total of 76% and 74% of high-income respondents in Kazakhstan and Belarus respectively support the union, compared to 65% and 57% respectively among low-income groups

A survey of integration preferences among the CIS' population in 2016 has shown that the Eurasian economic integration is still supported by people in the EAEU member states and their neighbouring countries. Overall, the level of support exceeds 60%. These are the findings of the EDB Integration Barometer, a yearly research conducted by Eurasian Development Bank's (EDB) Centre for Integration Studies. In 2016, 8,500 people from seven CIS countries – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, and Tajikistan – took part in the survey

Foreign direct investment (FDI) stock in CIS countries continued to go down, having decreased by $2.2 billion or 5% over the year. The main reason for this in the recent years was the devaluation of the national currencies and the revaluation by companies of their earlier investments. Companies, however, tend to preserve their projects abroad, in the hope of better times, and not sell off their undervalued assets. The contribution of mutual FDI by EAEU countries to total mutual direct investments originating from CIS countries and Georgia went up from 47% in 2008 to 56%. The total accumulated amount has reached $23.7 billion. These are the findings presented in Monitoring of Mutual Investments in CIS Countries 2016, a report prepared by EDB’s Centre for Integration Studies
