Mukhammedkalyi Abylgzaiev, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Andrey Shirokov, Executive Director of the Project Block at the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) managed by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), during EFSD delegation’s visit to Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), to discuss the implementation of EFSD investment projects in the country, including the reconstruction of the Bishkek–Osh road (Phase IV)

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and REGION Leasing, a member of the REGION Group of Companies – one of Russia’s largest private investment holdings, intend to jointly prepare and implement projects in priority economic sectors. The respective memorandum was signed on 5 September in Vladivostok at the Eastern Economic Forum by Vsevolod Smakov, Member of the Management Board and Head of the EDB’s Energy and Industry Block, and Rustem Mukhamedov, General Director of REGION Leasing

Despite a decline in the significance and intensity of the Kyrgyz Republic’s mutual trade with the EAEU countries in 2018, these indicators remain high due to the country being the second most integrated EAEU economy after Belarus. In 2018, Russia’s trade with other EAEU countries amounted to US $57.8 billion (up 10.1% on 2017), including exports worth US $38.7 billion (up 12.7%) and imports US $19.1 billion (up 5.3%).
