Fitch Ratings has affirmed the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) long-term rating at ‘BBB+.’ The outlook is stable

The EDB has published its macroeconomic outlook for the Bank's region of operations for 2022. EDB analysts note that the active phase of the region’s economic recovery will complete this year, which is expected to result in a 4% increase in the countries’ aggregate GDP. In 2022, economic growth in the Bank’s member states will remain above the pre-pandemic levels and is projected at 2.9%. Government measures to support investment, facilitate recovery in services, and boost oil production will help to maintain the strong growth momentum

Russia is the largest exporter of direct investments in the post-Soviet area while Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are the largest recipients of FDI from post-Soviet countries. Private investors account for 55% of mutual FDI stock in the EAEU. Investments in knowledge-intensive sectors and greenfield projects are growing at a high rate in the EAEU. This indicates an intensification in technology transfer and the modernisation of the Union's economies

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has successfully placed its debut three-year social bonds for a total of KZT 20 billion, with a coupon of 10.6%. The issue was offered on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) and Astana International Exchange (AIX). Investor demand on both exchanges totalled KZT 30 billion. The arranger of the issue is Halyk Global Markets (a subsidiary of the Halyk Group)

EAEU+ smaller economies, which include some of the member states of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), will not be able to implement digital transformation outside of the union. Failure to keep up with integration processes might result in the loss of their sovereignty. The head of the EDB said that, over the next five years, the Bank plans to provide US $3.8 billion for projects in Kazakhstan – this is the amount invested by the Bank over 15 years of its operations
