The International Platform of Skills and Professions, financed by the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Fund for Digital Initiatives hosted over 20 training events within its first month of its operation. The platform, available at www.inpdp.org, has already attracted 158 regular users from EDB member countries

Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Management Board, participated in the inauguration of the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD), Central Asia’s first public-private partnership (PPP) project.
The ceremony was attended by Alibek Kuantyrov, Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Yerbolat Dossayev, Akim of Almaty; Marat Sultangaziyev, Akim of the Almaty Region; Nandit Parshad, Managing Director for Infrastructure at the EBRD; and Ibrahim Ali Shoukry, Regional Head of the IsDB Regional Hub in Almaty; as well as representatives from Alarko, Makyol, SK Ecoplant, and Korea Expressway Corporation.

Infrastructure connectivity is a key priority for all Eurasian countries, as cross-border infrastructure projects become a factor for their socio-economic development, access to goods and services, as well as trade and investment. Public-private partnerships (PPPs) provide an efficient means to implement these cross-border projects. To ensure the successful execution of cross-border PPP projects in the region, the EDB has developed guidelines based on international best practices in cross-border infrastructure development. These guidelines aim to facilitate the initiation and launch of cross-border PPP projects in Eurasia, mitigate implementation risks, and contribute to regional cooperation and economic integration

The Eurasian Congress '23 starts today at the Sirius Park of Science and the Art in Sochi. The forum will bring together representatives from governments, businesses, academia, and experts from dozens of countries. The discussions will focus on the future of Eurasia, cross-border public-private partnerships, food and water security, as well as investment and capital growth opportunities for Central Asian countries. The congress is hosted by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB)

The EDB has released its Macroeconomic Outlook for the Bank’s six member states. Bank analysts anticipate that the region’s economies successful adaptation to the new environment will support their growth this year. Positive growth rates are projected for all countries in the region: Armenia expected to grow by 7.5%, Belarus by 2.2%, Kazakhstan by 4.3%, Kyrgyzstan by 4.2%, Russia by 1%, and Tajikistan by 7.9%.
