International financial institutions (IFIs) were a font of both advice and funds in the lean years, but as more and more of the emerging markets are now standing solidly on their own feet, they have been setting up their own development banks and taking over the job of investing into infrastructure or building institutions
Moscow, 4 April 2013. On 2-3 April 2013 Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) delegation took part in a top-level seminar on public debt management. The event was arranged in the framework of the Russian presidency of the G20.
In accordance with the G20 procedures, Russia has determined a range of key issues which are of crucial for the sustainable post-crisis recovery of the global economy and are being collectively worked on by the G20 members. These include the improvement of public debt management and the role of regional financial mechanisms such as the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund, as well as the promotion of long-term investment on the global scale

Almaty, 28 March 2013. The first two tug boats floated out today in Astrakhan. The vessels were ordered by OMS SHIPPING from the Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association (ASPA) in the framework of Eurasian Development Banks (EDB) project to set up a fleet for the support of marine operations in the Caspian Sea. Marat Jaukenov and Kanat Dosmukametov, Deputy Chairmen of the EDB Management Board, took part in the opening ceremony. The ASPA will manufacture a total of five such vessels
Almaty, 26 March 2013. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) continues to fulfil its programme providing pre-export finance for large uranium supplies from Kazakhstan to Russia. This is envisaged by an agreement signed between EDB and Zarechnoye JV, a uranium ore producer in South Kazakhstan Region.
In accordance with the agreement the Bank will lend the company US $20 million for three years. The borrower will use the money to pay for the services and materials necessary to produce and export uranium
