Almaty, 4 December 2013. The pharmaceutical market of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia is one of the most dynamically and rapidly growing markets in the world. At the end of 2012 the aggregate size of the three countries’ market reached US $32.4 billion, having grown by 15.6% and 7% in 2011 and 2012 respectively. EDB and WB signed a cooperation agreement to support preparation and implementation of the “Irrigation Modernization and Institutional Capacity Building Project” in Armenia
Moscow, December 4, 2013. — The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) serving as the Trustee for the Anti-Crisis Fund of the Eurasian Economic Community (ACF) and the World Bank today signed a cooperation agreement to support the preparation and implementation of the “Irrigation Modernization and Institutional Capacity Building Project” in Armenia for the amount of US$40 million to be provided by the ACF.
The agreement was signed by Laura Tuck, Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Vice-President of the World Bank, and Igor Finogenov, Chairman of the EDB Board.
Pursuant to the agreement, the EDB has committed to apply the operational policies of the World Bank in the preparation and implementation of the project. These policies include environmental and social safeguards, and procurement and financial management guidelines for WB-financed projects

Almaty, 21 November 2013. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) signed a memorandum of cooperation today. The document was executed by Viktor Bolyasnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board at EDB, and Shun-ichi Murata, Deputy Executive Secretary at ESCAP.
The signature took place at the Economic Forum and the 8th session of the Governing Council of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) organised by ESCAP and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
«The signed memorandum lays the basis for our cooperation and will contribute to the further strengthening of regional economic integration, the development of trade infrastructure, the improvement of energy efficiency, the efficient use of water resources and environmental protection and the advancement of cooperation in other areas that are of mutual interest for the benefit of the countries of this region,» said Shun-ichi Murata. «ESCAP is entering into partnership with EDB in order to promote sustainable and comprehensive development in Central Asia»
ALMATY, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) — The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Almaty to promote regional development and integration. «The memorandum laid the foundation for our cooperation and it will further promote regional economic integration, the development of transport infrastructure, energy efficiency, water management and environmental protection, as well as the development of partnership in other areas of mutual interest,» Shun-ichi Murat, deputy executive secretary of ESCAP said after signing the document. «ESCAP has entered into a partnership with the EDB to promote sustainable and inclusive development in Central Asia», he said. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of an economic forum and the eighth session of the Governing Council of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA)
